The Representation of Bulgarians, Türks and Hephthalits in the works of the Historian at-Tabarî, Eastern Writers (4th – 7th Centuries)

The study aims to illustrate the importance of Eastern sources in the study of Turkish historiography trough the examples of the well known thirteen volume work of at-Tabarî, the historian of the proto-Bulgarians, Türks and White Huns in the nineth and tenth centuries and other eastern works. The role of these works in shedding light to the less well known aspects of general Turkish history has also been analysed.
