On the Golden Horde Diplomatic Tradition

The Golden Horde which was a great political and military power until the second half of the 14^th century, had established economical and diplomatic relations with the Russian Knezia, the states in the Balkans and the Anatolia, Byzantium, the Papacy and Italy. Information on the "yarlık" and "bitik"s which are the primary sources of the history of the Golden Horde state has been given. The article also studies the topic from the aspect of the development of the diplomatic tradition and diplomatic language. Moreover, the possible influence of the Golden Horde diplomacy on Turkish diplomacy history has been studied.
