Shanghai Fives' Bishkek Summit

Recently, the Turkish foreing policy has focused on EU, which has made it difficult to follow the new structurings taking place in the world. In this context the Shanghai Fives is an important new structure. This article aims to draw attention to the development in Asia by informing the declaration issued at the Bishkek Summit, November 1999, the fourth of its kind, where the Russian Federation, China, Kazakhistan, Tajikistan and Kirghizistan were represented by the heads of states. Moreover, the Declaration and the media coverage of the Summit have been presented the appendix.
