The Strategical Importance of Chechnya for Russia in Caucasian Geopolitical Situation

Caucassia is a geopolitical area a strategically importance for Russia. This article studies the petroleum reserves in Chechnya, the Baku-Novorossisk Pipe Line, the developments in the Mashadov Era the Second Chechen-Russian War. The detailed information presented useful in shedding light on the present day developments in the area. Moreover, the study presents the general outline of Russian policies in relation to Caucasus.
