The Legal Practical State of Languages in Bashkurdistan: The Problems of Language Policy in Theory and Practice

The article deals with the linguistic situation in Bashkurdistan and the language policy. Bashkurdistan is unique ethnologically and linguistically unique among the states forming the Russian Federation, except for the Republic of Daghestan. The complex ethno-linguistic heritage is result of the parallel development and interaction of a few language but also of the language families (Turk, Slav and Fin-Ugor) due to historical development. The article focuses on various languages in relation to the discussion of the official language and their legal status.
